Ning Wu is Bernice's mother and the source for Sit the Moon's traditional recipes. She grew up in Jiangsu province, China, and learned traditional Chinese medicine while sent to the countryside during the Cultural Revolution. She later worked as a physics teacher and engineer, and remains the family's best cook.
